For so long, during her amateur career, it was Katie’s father Pete who was the first one to heap praise on his daughter following a fight.

Now a days that role lies with her mother, and there wasn’t a prouder Irish mother in the world on Saturday night.

The Manchester Arena welcomed Taylor into the bout but it was her mother who was the first to throw her arms around her after it.

A unanimous decision win by the Irish superstar, as she continues to break records and lay down a path for other female boxers to follow, Katie Taylor is now a two weight world champion and remains undefeated.

Since turning pro, Taylor has moved to the US, where she is without her family, who remain in the family home in Bray.

But whenever and where ever she fights, there are always members of the Taylor family there for support and this one was no different.

The champion’s brother Peter, sister Sarah and mother Bridget were all ringside and Bridget needed no invitation to join her world conquering daughter in the ring to celebrate her 5th world title.

Taylor remains undefeated, with a record of 15-0 and her promoter, Eddie Hearn is eyeing a headline fight on a pay-per-view card in 2020.
