What a refreshing little book, I did micro electronics back in college some 20 odd years and couldn’t remember much about the subject. Reading this book has jogged my memory and now it’s time to take it up a notch, 5 star read would recommend to everyone.

I found this book very readable, but not without errors. For example, it defines 'power' as the 'amount of work', whereas power is actually the RATE at which work is done. This is reflected by the fact that power and work are measured in different units. A better approach would have been to define energy or work BEFORE defining power... that would make it clearer, as understanding power requires prior knwledge of work.

Bought this as a present for my teenage son... it's an okay book, but apart from him picking it ups few times and flicking through, it didn't really grab his attention or entice him to learn more. I don't really think it's for a beginner - i.e. it doesn't really start off from the very basics, so should give an overview of each electronic component at the start (i.e. this is a capacitor, this is what it does, how and why it should be used etc.). Could do with a lot more diagrams/pictures aimed at beginners!
