I brought this for my grandaughters 8th birthday. It was the only sewing machine I could find that was suitable for a child. I would have preferred to buy her something more substantial-but not a machine that was too complicated. Its very flimsy as I had expected. It took ages to thread the needle because of the safety guard around it. By the time we managed to thread the needle we were both feeling very frustrated only to find that the lead going from the machine to the pedal that rests on the floor was too short! We were both really dissappointed but continuing to perfect threading the needle

Very happy with this product. Bought it for my 6 year old for practicing sewing and learning about using a sewing machine. I think it is a good product and you have to remember it is a toy sewing machine. Yes the thread does come out easily if you pull it but I have just been putting a few stitches at the end of the sewing to stop it coming out.my daughter loves it and that is the main thing.
