Stay-at-home mother, 30, loses more than SIX STONE in just a year after being shocked by pictures of her looking fat last Christmas
- Heather Blair, 30, from Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, topped scales at 19 stone
- After losing 1.5 stone from severe morning sickness she decided to start dieting
- Using a diet programme she lost six and a half stone and transformed her life
A new mother has transformed her life by losing six and a half stone after ditching the lunchtime McDonald’s drive through for healthy alternatives.
Heather Blair, 30, from Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, found herself reaching her highest weight of 19 stone after the weight slowly crept on due to bad habits throughout her 20s.
But after suffering severe morning sickness from March 2018 during her pregnancy with her son and losing one and a half stone, the new mother decided she would take her weight loss into her own hands.

The final boost of motivation came last Christmas when Ms Blair saw a photo of herself obscuring the Christmas tree and looking ‘fatter than Santa’, reports The Mirror.
Now 12st 7lb Ms Blair hopes she can inspire other stay-at-home mothers to achieve their weight loss goals.
Ms Blair said: ‘When I look at photos of me from this time last year it’s hard to imagine how I ever got that big.

‘But now I’m here I want to tell my story to inspire any stay-at-home mums that any excuses are only in your head. I’m proof that anyone can do this. Anyone can become the person they want to be.’
With no exercise, a diet of takeaways and her days spent at a desk as a healthcare administrator the mother realised she had grown larger as she struggled to squeeze into a size 20 pair of trousers.
Ms Blair resorted to cutting the labels out of her clothes, so her partner Craig didn’t see the sizes, and buying from the maternity section – prior to her pregnancy.

Despite her weight gain Ms Blair said that she had been happily living life before the transformation, enjoying going out with friends for dinner.

Her partner Craig of 12 years did not gain weight despite the number of takeaways.
She told The Mirror: ‘I literally never cooked and Craig didn’t mind. He never put on weight because he had an active job working on the railways.

When she fell pregnant in March 2018 the weight loss caused by morning sickness sparked the idea that losing weight was possible.
‘It was the first time I’d ever lost proper weight and, while it wasn’t the route I’d have chosen, that definitely sowed a seed in my head.’ Ms Blair told The Mirror.

It was when she saw herself looking ‘wide’ in the photo in front of the Christmas tree that she decided to join Weight Watchers on the recommendation of her friend – signing up on January 1st 2019.
By her 30th birthday in November she found she had got down to a size 12.
On the programme she found she ‘never once felt deprived’, instead learning to cook healthier versions of the fattening foods she once loved.
Ms Blair said she does not miss anything about her old life and that her relationship with her long-term partner (left) has reached new highs
Busy with her new born the mother chose not to take up exercise, instead losing the weight through controlling her diet.

Adding: ‘Seeing photos of me this Christmas looking half the woman I was just 12 months ago is amazing. So 2020 is going to be a new dawn. I can’t wait.’
