Every month we share our followers fantastic pictures after they have tagged us on Instagram using the hashtag #teessidegazette. We have rounded up of some of our brilliant photographers on Teesside and taken a peek into their kit bags to see what they are shooting with.

Freelance photographer Ian Forsyth is Saltburn based and covers the North of England both as a freelancer and for Getty images. His main lines of work include documentary photography in news, politics and features.

His kit bag is made up of Fuji x pro 2 and Leica M9 and an assortment of lenses.

Michael Lazenby, a 25 year old filmmaker and photographer originally from Fairfield in Stockton.

Inspired by his photographer Dad and Steven Spielberg, he took his first photo aged five, of a steam train, and missed it.

Michael said “You’ll usually find me by the coast or up in the mountains. The Yorkshire coast and North Yorkshire Moors Railway are some of my favourite places to shoot locally.”

He works as a freelance photographer and filmmaker full time, shooting with a Nikon D850 and a DJI Phantom 4 Pro.

Jack Boothby, of Billingham went to Cleveland college of Art and Design from school.

He is a creative media producer for Visualsoft in Stockton, but also freelances with companies like GoPro and Airbnb.

Jack’s tools are a Sony A7riii, GoPro Hero 6/7/8, DJI Mavic Air/Phantom 3/GoPro Karma and also GoPro Fusion, a 360 camera he uses for certain features. Jack said “I don’t think the kit matters as much though as to how to use what you’ve got and just get creative.”

Ron Jackson lives in Saltburn and got into photography three years a go. He is an amateur photographer who loves to shoot landscapes and wildlife, as well as macro photography.

To capture his work he uses a Nikon D610.

Steven Iceton, of Norton, is a project manager by day, and freelance photographer in his spare time.

He works as a videographer, including drone footage, and currently working on a BBC show for the natural history unit in Bristol, featuring the North Yorkshire Moors.

In his kit bag is a Sony a7riii and a Phantom 4 Pro.

Durham based photographer Stephen Tomlinson works as a teacher at Barnard Castle school, but loves his photography, particularly landscape and aerial work. His tools are the Sony a7riii and a Phantom 4 Pro.

Hobby photographer Chris Clarke has only been snapping for 18 months, but he admits it has quickly become an obsession of his.

He says he was self taught, with a little help from YouTube and a lot of trial and error.

The 34 year old from Coulby Newham says his kit bag consists of a Fujifilm X-T3 mirrorless and a Manfrotto tripod.

He said “Landscape photography is my main interest and I love trying to capture the beauty of our area.”
