• Our beautiful Fair Trade handmade sari-covered plain notebooks will add a burst of colour to your writing. The beautiful sari material comes from Varanasi, one of the most religious cities in the world and a centre of excellence for sari making.
• Perfect for use as a diary, travel journal, sketchbook or just for your to-do lists. They also make an ideal gift for the budding writer in your life. Expertly crafted using both contemporary and traditional methods, each one is bound by hand.
• Each notebook contains 30 pages of unlined, handmade khadda paper. This sustainable material is crafted by hand from recycled cotton, salvaged from the waste of the Indian garment industry. Only unbleached cotton is used, ensuring the paper is acid-free.
• Lightly textured and luxuriously thick the smooth paper in our notebooks feels beautiful to write, draw, or paint on. While it's perfect for ball-point pens, gel pens, or watercolours, we wouldn't recommend it for use with fountain pens.
• The paper in all our journals and photo albums is made by a charity in rural Rajasthan that promotes women's education and their social standing in rural villages. We are fortunate enough to visit them every year, having worked with them for many years.
