This is a nice little unit and makes a good noise when activated, the ability to activate the siren with the remote is a good idea (if you see someone approaching your van or something for example) the big downside is battery life, don’t expect it to last long on the AA batteries so you will need a separate power source for more reliable operation! Other than that a nice little device that might give you a warning and save your tools if someone disabled your main van alarm etc

I’ve bought 2 of these alarms. They’re great. I also have the vibration alarms on the van as a first defence. But these ones act as back ups in case the thieves actually enter the van. They work fine. Alarms are the only way to protect your tools I think. Locks and cages can all be opened and broken. Cameras don’t work on covered faces. Alarms deter and alarm us to the thieves and we have at least a chance to get out and sort the problem.

Was sceptical about how good this would be but definitely the right purchase! The sensor is really sensitive and the alarm is extremely loud! You can hear it inside from my shed, inside the house with the doors and windows closed. Feel the shed is so much more secure especially knowing I can operate from the remote control provided. Excellent value for money and so simple to install.

I've already got 2 of the older version of this alarm which I am still using and very pleased with. This new version has a number of improvements over the older version - which are most welcome. It takes 3 AA batteries opposed the 3 AAA in the old version - which I think means it will last quite a bit longer on a set of batteries but they've not run out yet in the 2 weeks I've been using it. I can't be sure but the alarm also seems quite a bit louder than the old version. I've also noted that you have the option to power the alarm using a USB cable - by plugging it into the sockets in the back. This gives you the flexibility to run it from mains or from a power bank for extra long run times. . The fob on this version seems to be a little sturdier than the old version - which is a welcome improvement. I use the fob to disable the alarm from quite a distance - which is handy. Like the old version you get a little bracket to mount the alarm and you can use the provided screws or sticky pad to attach the bracket where you want it. The alarm can tilt and rotate in the bracket - so you can point the PIR sensor where you need it - for example, I've mounted mine around waist height so I've had to tilt the sensor back slightly to it covers a good distance in front of the alarm. Overall I would highly recommend this alarm for securing small spaces - especially sheds/caravans/motorhomes. It's simple to setup and when triggered is very loud.

When i recieved this i started by opening the battery compartment by removing the screw. The screw was not tight and just rotated round and round. the hole it screws into in the main body seemed oversize. They supply 3 cheap AA batteries so to prevent then leaking i replaced with duracell of my own. Screwing the battery cover back on was difficult as the screw would not tightenand just went round and round as before. - and no i didnt overtighten.. When i fitted the unit to the wall and rotated the bracket the main sensor and its U bracket fell off the footplate and hit the wooden floor of my shed. I pushed it back in and positioned it. It seemed to work fine when i tested it. The thing to remember with this type of sensor is a tea leaf can just rip it off the wall and smash it on the ground and probally stop it within 15 seconds, as its not that robust. But i have a shed door alarm too so hopefully things will be OK. I wish they did one that triggered a remote speaker so i could have this by the bed in case someone broke in during the night as if you are on the other side of the hose you might not hear it.
