Bought this as it was cheaper than getting it from the Xbox website, and it has given me no problems I enjoy gaming all the time and it’s as good as new, there’s very few minor scratches but barely noticeable unless your directly looking at them, very happy with the purchase. 9/10

I got the Xbox Series S refurbished for £149.99. The console and controller look brand new, with no marks and works perfectly. I've had a PS5 since launch but got the Series S as it was a good deal plus I wanted to take advantage of Game Pass and play Starfield when it comes out. So you'll probably see me comparing the two consoles a lot. First the good. As a console it's powerful enough to cope with all the new releases. The size of the thing is astonishingly small compared to the PS5 and the minimalistic design is clean and crisp. The customisable menus and options are great, especially folders which is currently sorely missing from the PS5. The ability to buy and play games from the original Xbox to the current generation is great for nostalgia (I'm very tempted to revisit Lost Odyssey). The ability to carry on where you left off when switching between games is handled a lot better on the Xbox than PS5. Also the Game Pass subscription is good value and means you rarely have to purchase additional games. Lets face it, considering there's no disc drive most people who purchase the Series S will be subscribing to Game Pass. Then the bad points. When I first turned the console on I decided to install Halo Infinite and Forza 5, then I realised I had used way over half of the available hard disk space. Basically the base drive space is not big enough and you have no option than to buy an additional hard drive if you want more than a handful of games installed. This can be achieved either through an external hard drive or an overpriced official expansion. I found the controller feels a bit cheap compared to the PS5, nothing to ruin the experience but it just doesn't feel next gen to me. In my opinion the Xbox's UI feels quite cluttered and whilst it gets the job done, it does feel a bit like menus within menus. I've also noticed that there are a few bugs within the UI where on rare occasions the menus/processes hang or don't load. Overall I can't fault the Xbox Series S for the price I paid. It's great value for money and although it isn't as powerful as the Series X or PS5, it's a an excellent option for those who don't want to spend a huge amount on a next gen console. There are a few minor annoyances as I previously mentioned, with the only major one being the tiny hard drive.

The refurbished one from this seller aren't really very good quality, 2 damaged controllers (one has been a replacement for one that shipped and didn't work) no boxes, the original accessories aren't original (sky branded power cable!) all controllers are filthy and needed cleaning. The series S themselves needed a good clean as well. Both seem to work fine, but when the only real good point is that it works, not great. Oh and they wanted me to pay to return the original broken controller! Send me a bad one, and expect me to pay for it to be replaced? Not what I paid for. Honestly wish I had had some forethought and got the black Friday deal on 2 new ones, although I try to get refurb stuff if possible, cut down on the e-waste and all. Mistake this time will stick to amazon warehouse stuff from now on, or first party.

Simply incredible value for money from Amazon, console was wrapped as if completely brand-new, like others have said I wouldn’t of known it was refurbished unless I bought it myself, controllers can be funny at times to pair, I had absolutely no issues and I’m pretty confident that those that have run into some of the hiccups that can happen, when pairing controllers to controls simply need to go to YouTube will read the manual for help. Additionally, it’s widely known that the storage is a big sacrifice on this console, only 500 gig, actually 350 odd actually usable due to the operating system, the console itself will hold 3 to 4 major titles at a time, adding a simple, £99.06 terabyte external hard drive is an absolute must, all non-access games can be played from the hard drive, and moving games from the hard drive to the console is a breeze, I’m getting one gig transfer speeds from a Seagate bought from Amazon, which is excellent and completely negate. Any concerns . I also have the series X downstairs, and that only has one gig hard drive and the same set up means the problem doesn’t really exist. You just have to work around storage allocation. Absolutely amazing value platform, paired with GamePass You simply can’t go wrong

Do not buy!
It came like it was brand new, no issues, console and controller came well protected, no batteries but a wire to plug into the console to use the controller. 10/10 would highly recommend

I was skeptical at first about buying a refurbished model but the price was too good. I have a Series X and was after a console for the wife (and when I don't have access to the living TV - joys of kids). So this model was already on my radar and then I saw a refurbished model and the reviews were all positive. Have had zero issues and so glad I took the chance. Packaging, as other have stated, was wrapped up like a brand new console. Everything working as expected and a joy to play. Thank you so much to all those that said before me and if you're reading this then also take it from me, this is totally worth it and you should....treat yourself
